Welcome to St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools, home of the Titans! The public school system in St. Bernard can be traced all the way back to 1869, when school district No. 4 was established. In those days, classes were held in private rooms in the neighborhoods of Carthage Pike and Ross Avenue. The first school building was also built on Ross Avenue. It was small, containing only four rooms. This building expanded in 1888, and the village of St. Bernard experienced its own growth at the time. It was this growth that caused the first Tower Avenue building to be established in 1900. In 1968, St. Bernard merged with Elmwood Place, giving St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools the name it carries today.
